I got "home" from those two trips in a row and realized something. When I got close to the exit for our house in Forsyth, IL...I felt no relief, no "thank gods were home". Hectic as hell, nearly packed, working a split day today at work so Rob can go to a political meeting at 12:30 in Champaign, IL. Leaving town at 5am tomorrow. At least it's real dang hot in Arkansas. Every day I wake up and say, you know every day should be a happy day, should be comfortable, should be a day where you leave no regrets. The only thing that holds us back from it is us. Today, I was leaving for work and asked Eli for goodbye kisses. He said "yuck, no way, I don't like girl kisses". Cute and sad at the same time! 5 years old and all grown up, eh?

I finished the floor in the bathroom, at least the parts you can see. And almost every room has some kind of covering for the windows. All our furniture is now in the house thanks to a nice neighbor (sofabed not under carport anymore). I have most of the carpet tack up. But the kitchen is a DISASTER! I'll be leaving next Sunday, Feb 22nd to move to Decatur. I'll be in executive suites there in an area called Mount Zion. Me and Rob will drive back and forth on weekends until they move our stuff on our house closing date which is now on March 17th...LUCK O' THE IRISH!

I got the job! But I only got $70,000/yr...I guess I can live with it! They are having a company do our relocation. The company assigns a personal consultant to me and that person helps me with loans, pays all my fees, gets the moving men to come to our home and take our stuff to where we want to go, helps us find the place where we want to go, ( Read more... )

I'm going next Wednesday for a final interview, but they told me there would be an offer at the end of the interview or within two days of it.
