*hugs* I can see that, or variations of that, happening! And it happens to me too, I read on the ward, so there are about 8 beds in the male section and 16 in the female, so I get other patients listening in or looking at me like I'm their gaoler. If your mum finds it hard to concentrate, then short poems? One that I find works very well is "Sea Fever" which many people seem to have studied at school, and a lady who obviously couldn't cope with the James Herriot story I read her or hold a conversation with me, joined in with the poem :)
It may not work at all....it may end up like a scene cut from Faulty Towers, who knows :) *hugs and cuddles to you*
I'm going to try Puck of Pook's Hill by Kipling, a super book without too many demands. But what I did was today we had a picnic i the lounge area, complete with bite-size Smoked salmon sandwiches and bucks fizz with 'real ' Tesco champagne. She thought it was great. It ws fun and we felt like we were being a bit naughty. We had to 'fess up to the nurse because she needs to log what Mum eats, but it felt fun. Thanks for the ideas hon, much appreciated.
