So, a bit of an update then?

Last Team ended well, all those who took part got a great deal out of being at the Presentation I feel. I got a little weepy which my Team found amusing :) I also got flowers and many comments on my little speech - I forget they don't know the performer side of me! Giving a speech was the bit I was least concerned with!

 Looks like my finances will be okay.
I contacted the finance department to check a few things, and I double checked her answer as well! I get full wage at the end of July, half wage for August and full wage for Sept. It was Sept I was worried about as under my current claim contract, I would have had no money in Sept as I didn't work in August... ( Read more... )

Wow, this proper job stuff is challenging!
I'm now like a rechargeable battery that only charges to 25% no matter how long you leave it plugged in for!
I can't wait for this all to be over next friday so I can have a decent break and get a bit of a life back. Feels like all I've done is work and rest up to prepare for work!

A week in an outdoor activity centre with 13 Team members and my Team Leader. What could possibly go wrong?!

It's been a fantastic week, all the minute to minute niggles and stress get overwritten by the pride I feel remembering my Team overcoming their fears and bonding together more and more as the days passed. The difference between this Friday ( Read more... )

 Explaining to a Team Member that an Asylum Seeker is not someone who wants to go into a mental institution.
Having to repeat things in a westcountry accent before they'll do what I'm asking.
The shyest Team Member cutting the fringe that hid most of their face.

So I no longer work at Sussex Downs as a receptionist administrator :) As of Tuesday next week I will be a full time (if only for 12 weeks!) Princes Trust Assistant Team Leader. This rocks.

My last shift at reception didn't end how I'd've liked.... with about 30 mins left I got a phone call from an irate lady on behalf of her disabled son. Furious ( Read more... )

Yesterday I decided that a spring clean was desperately needed.
Some 4 or 5 hours later and I have a clean and tidy hallway - this was a VERY BRAVE choice as it involved the fear that spiders may be living among the neglected footwear. Several old icky items were chucked and the rest arranged properly and neatly.
