"You've been in here for hours Yoshiki-san!" My assistant insists, pointing to the clock as if I've never seen one before. I'm well aware the amount of time I've been locked away in this studio...but it's not done...it's not perfect...it needs...more...
It doesn't matter how long it takes, it has to be 'right' I can't leave until it's accomplished. They all wanted me to 'take a break' 'get some sleep' but that's not possible. Not yet.
When it’s done then maybe…maybe I’ll rest. But not till then.
They’d chosen the name for the bands latest album, Jealousy. It seemed appropriate when the blonde really thought about it. Obviously the song Silent Jealousy was on this album but that wasn’t the reason for the name.
How many ‘friends’ had they lost over the last so many years due to that invisible force? People that just couldn’t accept their success couldn’t understand the hard work and little sleep that went into it all.
It was better without them in the end, they had each other, they had others who were in similar situations. There was acceptance in them and devotion from the fans. Really that was all that mattered.
“Annnd?” the nasally voice of X-Japan’s guitarist asked the blonde drummer. Yoshiki looked over the top of the article he’d been reading, a review on their latest album, his eyebrows raised.
“And what hide?”
The other rolled his eyes and then snatched the magazine away from him, “don’t give me that! I know you want to say something about it…” he motioned to his newly cut and dyed hair.
“Annnnd?” he asked again.
Yoshiki studied him for a moment before snatching the article back, burying his nose in it again, “You look like a spider,” he smirked, “A Pink Spider.”
We were classmates long before we decided to form a band. He was always there for me, mother would be distant and father…well Toshi was there for me then as well. It seemed like nothing could break our friendship, we shared the same dreams. We formed X , something we decided together, but it was always more my dream then his.
What happened through the years? X became X-Japan, we became idols to millions. When did I loose him? Why didn’t he tell me? Had our dreams become so different?
10 years was long…too long for such a friendship…but now…

We’re like strangers now, Toshi and I and I’m not sure we can ever really be close again.
