I'm in!

The team has five new members out of a team of nine (for the climbing wall, plus 3 dancers dedicated to the bar structure), so it's very possible that what we do may look and feel different from the pieces that have already been created. Regardless, here's a link to their YouTube channel if you want to check out their past productions ( Read more... )

YAY! I was already planning on going to their performances, but now they'll be even more exciting!

btw, I don't know if you've heard of Project Bandaloop, but they're doing a workshop in the LA area in March in case you're interested. You can get the details via a pdf linked from their front page. I don't know what it is about the Bay Area, but we sure do seem to have a lot of dancing/climbing/aerialing groups!

Yeah, a dancer acquaintance of mine from the UCLA rock wall has talked about Bandaloop. That workshop is in Oakland... not that I would have time to go anyway.

Oh, good heavens. They linked to the old December flyer instead. But I figured out their system and found you the real info: http://www.projectbandaloop.org/pdf/090314-15_workshop_flyer.pdf

You know, just in case you find some time. ;)

That is awesome!

Also, watching their video made me think it might be cool to combine it with some sort of architectural projection like this.

I saw something very similar in London: they had a projection of snowflakes falling down the face of a building (in preparation for a giant count-down to the new year). However, it'd be tricky to get the projection to move nicely over the holds and/or climbers. It could be a really neat element if we could work it out, though!
