Have you watched the first few episodes of that show, because those have the absolute best plot twists ever. I found it amazing that the fact that Smallville, Kansas appears to be 87% Kryptonite never caused any super-villain creating mutations until the moment that Clark learned about his superpowers and alien heritage. Lucky town.
The truly interesting thing about the show, though, is the emotional involvement you get in issues that you know are doomed to fail. You can't wait for Clark and Lana to hook up, even though you already know their relationship will fail. You want to see the changing dynamics of Clark and Lex's friendship, even though you already know they will become bitter enemies. It's kind of like a classical Greek tragedy, only with less eye-stabbing and more football coaches who can toss fire from their hands.
Oh, and I think Smallville High is rapidly catching up with Sunnydale high in the fight for the highest student mortality rate. ^_~
