Most everyone's favorite fungus: Yeast! My Peach Mead is extremely vigorous. It is still bubbling up a storm. I estimate that at this rate it will take several months less than an average batch. Hey Kevin,
All of your meade tales are really causing me to want to attempt a batch of my own. Can you recommend a *simple* beginner's recipe, is there even such a thing? Or tell me where to go to find one. I must try to make some.

Basic Mead recipe:

13# Honey (Orange Blossom) (It is often measured in FL Oz, approx 12
lbs/gallon)
2 Oranges (Juice)
1 lemon (Juice)
2 Teabags (Black, recommended)
40# Ice
Optional ingredients )

BTW, this will make a semi-dry mead, add 3-4 lbs for a fruitier mead (I never do)

Wow, I didn't know that there was so much involved in making mead. This is really cool. Thank you so much. I will try this in the winter when things FINALLY slow down! ~h
