A twelve-year-old boy comes in with his friend and buys cherry cola. He pays the $1.20 in coins and then pauses, flips a nickel onto the counter. "What the heck," he says, "have a tip. Buy yourself something nice." Half a day later and I still can't decide if he was kidding. -

I am a human wonder: I waterskiied without actually waterskiing. It got better!
So I missed the intestines. But I did get to see a zombified woman choke a man, then said man stab her in the ear with a screwdriver and chainsaw her into pieces. And I saw some kickass FX makeup. (Turns out, you create an explosion of brain matter with tomatoes and peanut butter: nasty but realistic.)

And I just discovered that the story of his paperclip-to-house saga has been turned into a book. I am so totally buying it at ROFLCon, if I get a lunch break. I will eat my sandwich on the way to his "how I took over Craigslist and saved my life" booth. And then I will hover around Ryan North for several minutes too, prob'ly. -
OH MY GOD ATONEMENT IS SO SAD
I cried three times during the movie and I don't even cry at movies, generally. (At the end I was essentially hysterical, and had to gurgle an apology to Leah for disrupting her studying.)
On the other hand, it's probably better that Rachel refused to see it with me when it was in theaters. It would have been terribly embarrassing. -

It's official: I am suffering from an Abbey Road addiction. Much like (I presume) heroin, Abbey Road has ingrained myself in my psyche to the extent that, despite a growing need to separate myself from the source, I cannot do it. I can't think of any other music that would please me quite as much. -

Mum was just watching an episode of The View that she DVR'd, and a singer-songwriter of kids' music was the guest. So this guest star started playing as I walked into the living room, and my first thought is, "Huh, this is pretty catchy." My second thought? "Actually, this reminds me of They Might Be Giants." I rediscover humanforsale.com, and find out I am worth $2,350,280. Then I feel weird about it (or moreso, about why my insurance says I'm only worth $600 still living. State Farm, that hurts).
