Yesterday we put in a garden.  It's been unseasonably warm here, and the dirt was definitely dried out from all the rain we had last week, so we decided to put in all of our early spring vegetables that won't mind a light frost.  This was the first time I've had a garden since high-school... and I hated that garden.  I don't know what is making the ( Read more... )

Common sense goes a long way to quickly developing new skills, I would say :)

Have you guys ever looked into an AeroGarden, for stuff you might not put in your little plot or for the winter months? I have one and love it, I grow certain herbs in it and it helps keep my apartment feeling fresh and lively during wintertime.

We should definitely think about that! I would never have thought I'd be excited about plants, but I think they're filling a void in our lives that we'd prefer to be filled by a cat... but since we can't have one, plants it is! Which herbs do you grow?

You can buy seed packets/pods from the company that makes the AeroGarden, which is what I usually do. My current setup is growing italian basil, purple basil, thyme, mint, dill, chives and parsley.

I might try strawberries later this spring/summer.
