Oh, life. Never change.

Imagine my astonishment when I discovered that the animal I accidentally ran over this morning as I was taking the Goblin to meet his bus was not only still alive an hour later, but also not a possum. It was a large snapping turtle.

BE GLAD YOU CAN'T GET INTO ROBIN HOOD. VERY. VERY. GLAD. Seriously it is just awful and gets worse. I gave it two seasons in desperate hope that it couldn't actually be as bad as I thought it was before I had to face reality and cry for my wasted life.

You aren't kidding me. I tried to watch a couple of clips on YouTube, but even those were too painfully bad to endure for more than a minute. It wasn't too much of a loss, because I prefer Armitage with shorter hair. :-)

I enjoyed the campiness of the first season a bit (though it's really something that you kind of have to take on the whole, i don't think it would work in just clips) because when you do things like end the season finale with a That Girl style freeze frame, it is pretty hilarious. But MY GOD. The second season. And I heard the third is EVEN WORSE.

Also, if you are a fan of Armitage, idk, I've heard that his character had a pretty big following, all Draco-in-Leather-Pants-y, but I did not get it at all, because the way his character was written was just kind of pathetic. Better to keep a more positive view of him in your head, I think. :D

all Draco-in-Leather-Pants-y
That's exactly the vibe I was getting. I mean, the man can brood like nobody's business, but the stringy hair and the pleather and the bad, cheesy, horrible dialogue was like the trifecta of "Eh, no thanks."

I love the image of you being attacked by a turtle. Sorry for laughing terribly at you ;o)

Movies are so so so expensive these days. It's all those naughty downloaders' fault, not the greedy wankers running film corporations.

Well, I did nearly kill him, so he had a right to go after me. ;-)

Those snapping turtles can be mean! That was nice of you to help it.

Funny t-shirt!! I should get one for Andrew since he runs and coaches middle school cross country and track. Good luck to the Goblin!

... North and South... I was wondering if that was why you were using this icon! Isn't it great? I watched Robin Hood recently too but only seasons 1 and 2. Did you finish North and South?

Ok.... now off to read your fic!! *dances*

I did, and as soon as I picked myself up off the floor and mopped up the drool, downloaded it (even after telling birdseyeview I wouldn't - I'll still buy the DVD, but it's nice to have it on my laptop to feast my eyes and ears on in the meantime). :-)

are there any films you'd recommend that's similar to North and South?

Do you mean in general, or with Armitage?

So instead of jumping into the middle of the series, I decided to start with Season 1 Episode 1... and OMG, you didn't tell me Matthew Macfadyen is in it?!!?!?!?!?!?! *swoons*

I see that their characters don't overlap in the series, so I think that's a good thing. (Don't spoil me!) Too much swooning might not be very healthy.

Goodness, I just love listening to their voices.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee! Yay for a new Spooks/MI-5 fan! I don't know if you picked up on this as well, but that's Keeley Hawes (aka Alex Drake in Ashes to Ashes *and* Mrs. Matthew McFadyen - they met doing the show) as Zoe.

No, their characters don't overlap, but I won't spoil you as to why. One distinguishing characteristic of the entire series is that the main cast changes all the time, even with some characters leaving for a season or 2 and coming back later - in fact, that's why I started watching again lately, because I'd found out one of my favorite characters has returned.
