I'm back from Amsterdam. Culture shock galore - Amsterdam was simply put, amazing. The Netherlands is really a miracle and anyone living there is trully lucky. Rotterdam was a bit of a downer, but I don't think I've ever slept so little and walked so much in my entire life in a 10 day span.

Speaking of Belgium...

we had two research days. one in amsterdam and one in rotterdam (free days for interviews, data collection etc based on our projects). mine was in rotterdam, so i stayed there. my friends all took a day trip to Brussels. little did they know that they would be stranded because of the general strike and blockade! they had to take a taxi to the border, then hop on the train there!

Oh yeah, the strike... the stupid strike. Luckily I had the car, but half of Belgium was blocked. They sure picked a day! ;)
