I had an excellent lecture today and my brain is whirring with possibilities for essays. We looked at Capital Theory, Habitus and 'field' as in - what makes me valuable, what unconscioius stuff holds me back (or makes me feel safe), and how do these help me to operate in the intersecting fields of my existence such as within my family, at work, at ( Read more... )

I read (a very long time ago) that the closest we come to reality is in a depressive state (not necessarily clinical). Which does allude to the possibility that for most of the time, we are not based in reality at all.

There are many realities, but the most important one is the one inside our head and making sure it is just close enough to the one outside our head for us to function in society and no closer!

This is very sensible, particularly as I can understand what you have written but am having a lot of trouble making sense of what I wrote. Which is a little worrying as my tutor has suggested I develop the idea into an essay.

Up
