I'm not sure about that... I would argue that a simulation is by definition imperfect- and where one becomes sufficiently complex to be identical to the real thing, the distinction becomes irrelevent. Otherwise the argument must be a re-statement of a kind of Platonism in which we are creaking automatons representing more perfect higher entities (who in this case, are unreachable dead ancestors).
