It's odd...I never would have taught if I didn't go to VanderCook, and I never would have taught music if I didn't leave.
I had to go to that Philosophy course with Dr. Thorp...I had to see the children in the general classroom...I had to have those discussions at Saint Xavier...it had to be.
And oddly enough...if it weren't for that one day in Prof. Pape's class in Health/PE, I wouldn't have thought about the real work of music therapy...the activation of the mind...it started a whole new thing.
Such a strange journey. Also, I don't want to teach higher than 5th grade anyway. I don't want anything but general music. The foundation. VanderCook would have given me a certification in grades I don't want, and I already can teach any subject area as long as it's K-5.
It's confusing...and it probably makes no sense...but that's me.
