Uncertainty
“How do you know about Sylar?” Noah repeated next to Megan and she nearly rolled her eyes at his growling tone.
She grabbed the taller man, sinking her fingers into his forearm. “Noah,” she whispered in warning. “Let me talk to him before you blow it.” Blue eyes shot down in disbelief and she raised an eyebrow to him. “You tend to scare people off.”
Leaving her partner behind, Megan approached the dark haired agent. He was a good looking man, dark features with eyes that expressed his emotions; windows to the soul her mother used to say.
Eppes beat her to talking. “I don’t know about anyone named Sylar. I just,” a pause. “Know what I saw. A man in black. He was in here with the victim.”
She cocked her head to the side. “How do you know that?”
The agent ran his hand through his hair before sighing, glancing down at the watch on his wrist. “I don’t know. I mean…I just touched the coffee table and I saw this man, your Sylar or whoever, in my head. Like a movie.”
Megan’s breath caught in excitement. Did he have an ability? “How long have you been able to do this?”
"What? Just now. What the hell is it?"
Sun
She turned in joy back to her partner, happy as she always was when they found a potential new special. “Noah-”
“It’s the eclipse, Reeves,” Noah cast her a look behind his glasses. He stood near the windows, peering out. “The sun’s back. It’s over.”
Her hands rose, fingers flexing, and she could feel her body sighing with relief at regaining its normal composure. She hated solar eclipses.
“What the hell is going on?”
Noah and she turned back to see a murderous looking FBI agent, looking a few seconds away from arresting them. The Company would surely frown upon that.
“Why don’t I go back with you to your office, Agent Eppes, and we can talk about all of this?” Megan asked, waiting for the okay nod from Noah. She was the nicer one out of their partnership, the one that didn’t seen people of her kind running off.
Her suggestion seemed to satisfy Eppes and she found herself climbing into the back of an SUV, sitting behind a fellow blonde haired agent. His name was Granger and she filed it away for later.
As she thought about what to say, Megan stared out the window up at the sun, grateful for its return.
