The music I listen to isn't often good for dancing, so nothing comes to mind immediately. But I listen to music all day at work, so if anything occurs to me I'll mention it.
You can steal my iPod if need be. My brother's speaker set up works for a living room, but I'm not sure it will channel an iPod's sound into what you need it for.
As for songs, look to Coldplay for the usual suspects: Sparks, Scientist, etc, etc, etc will get you at least an hour's worth of "slow songs".
For dancing, I find very little perks me up the way the Pet Shop Boys do. Their version of "Always On My Mind" is a good one. I'm also fond of "Delusions Of Grandeur" and "Where The Streets Have No Name/Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You". But really, about 90% of their repertoire is good for dancing.
