This is far and away the longest story in the fandom that I have found truly funny, and warm with it rather than nasty. My favourite bits are the Merlin / Arthur interactions because they're my fav bits of the show but you've made a place in my heart for Percy and Brutus.

Whilst aramis_chan has a point about the general treatment of servants in Camelot I'll alibi that as Merlin having wormed his way into the hearts of most of the castle by now. :)

I look forward to more stories from you and hopefully more of Percy - will he ever start to wonder about that amazingly well timed rat???

Yes - it was amazingly well timed wasn't it (looks shifty) :) There might well be more at some point- but I think i'm all out of ideas for the moment.

Anyway I'm really glad you enjoyed it so much and that it came across as warm - that actually worried me quite a lot, that Merlin might seem TOO annoying or that Arthur would actually come across as a bit mean. I also take aramis_chan's point about the servants. When I wrote it I think I decided that people might have thought Arthur was being callous because Merlin actually seemed to be trying for once (even Arthur was taken in for about a millisecond). Also, as you say, I think Merlin is popular with most of the castle, except the more snobbish servants like the Castle Steward (who probably would've agreed with Arthur putting Merlin in his place if he'd been there). But yes, in hindsight I suppose it might seem a bit odd!

At the end of it all, Percy's just a boy who's looking for his place in life and along the way meets some very interesting characters ie Merlin & Arthur :D

Thank you! That's such a great way of describing him :) Hopefully he's found his place now in Camelot (although I think Brutus has found his place a bit TOO comfortably in the castle stables)
