since I am currently mobility-challenged I have lots of time on my hands, so I went ahead and uploaded all my games from Best of the Bay last weekend in which I finished third. Plays worth checking out:

Wow, Game 1 was a stepladder from hell. A shame the A15 space wasn't used, just to complete the full diagonal.

the stepladder feels damn good when you're up 30 points

At Norwalk, on one of the youth division boards, I saw a complete stepladder from O1 to A15, and I don't think there was a single word longer than 3 letters on the board... Did I really used to play scrabble like that?

It's worth noting that staircases aren't necessarily bad. There seems an odd stigma against them among a lot of the Scrabble community, but encouraging a staircase is often a great way of closing the board. Basically, one shouldn't avoid a staircase just because it is a staircase.
