This is a legitimate question that I figure someone out there knows the answer to...why is there no basketball on canadian tv? I was shocked to learn that they don't show the ncaa tournament at all after already hearing that there's very limited NBA coverage. By comparison, England, China and the Philippines all have significantly more hours of

canada has been showing in the past, and continues to show ncaa hoops.

It's false that the sports is all government-owned. CTV owns the majority of sports channels in the country and is privately held

I didn't think the UK showed very much basketball at all. Nobody there really cares about it - only a relatively few hardcore fans.
