Well. That blew me out of the water. I come back from vacation to find that they're getting rid of my position, so as of tomorrow, I won't be coming in to work anymore

I didn't see one but I didn't look either. After I shovel out all my office crap from my car I'll see if there's one in there.

Yeah, it was like "You're outta here, and by the way, merry christmas" all right. But still, I did enjoy seeing Eric, and Dad flew in as well, which was great.

Oh, and I was wearing my Nemu hat, and people loved it. And not just the people in Las Vegas! We went on a behind-the-scenes tour of Seaworld, and there were training pools in the back with dolphins, and they kept sticking their heads out of the water to watch us. And they kept coming out by where I was standing to stare at me and Nemu!hat. One of them even popped his head out and stared at me for a good minute or two. And as we were walking around the park, a little girl stared at me, then turned to her mom and said "that is the coolest hat ever!"

Thanks. It was a surprise for sure. But at least they offered us a severance package. I've been laid off a couple of times, and this is the first time there's been one offered to me. It will give me some time to look for a new job, so I don't feel that desperation and stress.

Yeah. It was a heck of a thing to come back from vacation to. Still, it could be MUCH worse, so I'm thankful for what I've got. It does give me a chance to concentrate on packing, too.
