Thanks, Eric. Yeah, I'm doing okay. They offered a severance package that was good, and will pay health insurance for another six months, and I'm already fully vested in the retirement plan. So even though I hope to be employed long before then, I've got some breathing space before I panic.
Thanks. I'm trying to look on the bright side--I've got a good severance package, I'm still covered with health insurance, and I can concentrate on the house move for the rest of the month.
And I'm better off than a few others who were given the boot--one lady is only a couple of years away from retirement, and she's wondering if she will even be able to get a job at her age.
Yeah. About the only good things are that I now have time to concentrate on the Move, and that there will always be a need for my skill set. I can file with the best! :P
Thanks, your and L's thoughts make me feel a lot happier. I've got some breathing space--they're technically keeping me on the payroll until the end of the year, so I do have two paychecks coming, and then the severance package is not bad, plus they'll cover my health insurance for half a year. I certainly hope to be employed way before that runs out, but I could be much worse off. I'm doing my best to be positive about things.
