He's skating as fast as he can, eyepatch off so Akito and Agito are both sharing the body. Akito had refused to allow Agito to take over alone, since if they found someone Agito needed him, and the dark could use his power. They weren't dying again. They couldn't.
The teen skidded around a corner and noticed the woman, skidding to a halt. She probably had every right to be alarmed at the sight of him. Akgito were a mess, hair wild from skating, golden eyes wide and afraid, the right one more wary and alert while the left was purely terrified. They had to find somewhere that was safe, that was good...he hated this place.
Agito did catch her words though, and growled through the panting. "If only..." he muttered, poking Akito in their mind. The light wanted to be out, he could deal with the people.
Mary hadn't been aware there was someone else walking (or close to walking) this hallway. As Akgito sped around the corner, she brought a hand up in case he was about to run into her, fully prepared to through him off of herself. Taking a few steps back, she stopped as she realized it was just a boy. A boy?
"What are you doing here? You should be sleeping." And in a safe room, who knows what's in these halls too?
Sleeping? That made the dark eyeroll in their mind, but luckily Akito had control now, so it didn't show in reality. He still didn't like being treated like a child though. "Not tired," he muttered, shivering a little. No, no tired. Just freaked the hell out. "And there's no-where to sleep...the parlour's too hot..." And like hell was he going anywhere near the other wing of the house. That bathroom was too strange. He didn't...he couldn't go back there. Not again.
"You should still preserve your strength. I don't know when or if we'll be attacked by the creatures living here as well." He shouldn't be expending so much energy skating, not at night. "Perhaps you should try one of the bedrooms? The one that I'm using doesn't seem too bad." It may look like a teenagers room, but out of the options she had, it was by far the best choice. "If you want, you could try to sleep in there for a while. Even if you don't sleep, I don't think anything will bother you in there."
"But..." He was very hesitant to stop moving. "I can't let them find me...I don't want that to happen again..." the light murmured, shivering. Energy he had in spades, when he wasn't afraid, but this...he didn't dare stop moving. He couldn't let the monsters find him. Especially not that one in the mirror...
"...What happened? I won't let them hurt you." Good heavens, why does everything seen to focus on these sweet children? Moving forward, she lifted a hand, wanting to set it on the boys shoulder. "They won't get to you while I'm here, I promise. Just tell me what happened so that I can try to prevent it from happening to anyone else."
He really wanted to believe that. He really, really wanted to believe that. So she ended up getting hugged for that, because Akito was really in a bad way and had needed a hug for who knows how long now.
"...man. In the mirror. Bathroom with all the dolls," he muttered, not letting go just yet. "Attacked my reflection...it...killed me too..." His voice was barely above a whisper at this point. He could still feel the non-existent blade ripping into his throat, the blood falling around him and the knowledge that he was dead, his body shutting down...Akito whimpered and shut his eyes. No more...he wanted to go home...
Automatically wrapping her arms around him, she held him tight to her, offering what comfort she could. How could anyone bring these poor children from their homes? Adults were one thing...but no child belonged here.
"A man attacked your reflection?" Oh please, don't tell her there were people living in the mirrors that they had to worry about too. "The man was inside the mirror?" Running her fingers through his hair, her voice was soft. "I don't want to make you have to go through this again, dear...but I need to know everything."
...oh. There's a ghost in this hallway near the end. Um.fanged_wingsOctober 10 2011, 03:07:22 UTC
He nodded at the questions, instantly relaxing at the hand in his hair. Anything playing with his hair calmed Akito down near-instantly. That alone let him be able to talk.
"...he was in the mirror. I tried to find him in the room but he wasn't there...he was tapping on it, and I could hear a sound...the tapping was making a rhythm, like a message...then I watched him, trying to understand it..." He shivered a little. "He...came up behind my reflection...with a knife..." He couldn't say it. He couldn't. A hand moved to rest on his throat. Hopefully she'd understand...
XD Mary will save you, Akito, lolwas_a_hunterOctober 10 2011, 04:16:46 UTC
And it cut his throat. She knew how to piece things together well enough, she just hated the thought that a child was being made to suffer like this. "He won't touch you again. He'll have to go through me, okay?" She didn't care what the cost was. If it would save any child here, she'd so it in an instant.
He will be forever grateful ;;fanged_wingsOctober 10 2011, 07:49:12 UTC
Akito glanced up at her, blinking a little at that. His right eye was much more focused at the moment, slit pupil almost wary. Agito wasn't sure about this yet. But the light needed companionship, it was what he thrived on. So he didn't say anything.
"...Akito. Akito Wanijima," he replied softly. "Only me though. My other's Agito." The hand on his throat went to his right eye. This close, she'd be able to see the differences, and maybe understand.
Petting his hair softly, her smile was patient. She wasn't sure what exactly was wrong with him, but she'd accept everything for what it was right now. "I's a pleasure to meet you...both of you."
His other half couldn't be so bad, not if he was this sweet. "My name's Mary Winchester, but you can just call me Mary~.
If you don't mind my asking; Where were you going?"
Mary was sorely mistaken in that regard. With luck though, Agito wouldn't have to take over control from his other. So long as nothing bad happened, he didn't mind right now.
"Okay...Mary-san." He nodded a little in understanding, before shrugging uneasily. "I don't really know...I wanted to find somewhere the monsters wouldn't go...some rooms are safe for some reason, but I don't know which ones..."
If Agito took over, she'd certainly wonder what she did to offend him. She wasn't worried about that right now though...she just wanted to make sure the boy stayed calm and safe.
She knew her room probably wasn't safe, but the study was. She couldn't find what made it safe...but for some reason the monsters didn't care for it. "Nina told me that the study was safe. Would you like me to take you there?" Even if he didn't she'd be trailing him to make sure that nothing hurt him.
He hesitated a little, because he'd gone through the parlour to get here and had no desire to do so again. "There isn't one near here?" the light asked softly. "The parlour's...scary." He didn't want to get burned. Only Agito on the AT had gotten them through without being burned.
"I don't think so, dear..." She was still trying to figure out just what rooms were safe herself. It was slow going, but without anything to mark what made the rooms safe, she was having trouble figuring it out for herself. "I'm still not sure what sets the rooms apart..."
