I find it rather sad that most fanfics of Severus Snape's parents almost always present his father as a drunken, physically abusive brute.

Yeah, the whole reason I originally signed up on LJ is to be able to post my Woodstock Snape story with graphics, something fanfiction doesn't allow.

It might be easier to find my stories on that site tho, rather than going thru my LJ archives.
