The cafe in which JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter book is now a cheap and cheerful Chinese restaurant.  It's sad that I actually wanted to see that cafe, but my bus used to go right past it and it seems like blasphemy that it's now...not what it was.  If that makes sense.  Harry Potter actually grew on me; I used to dislike her writing ( Read more... )

I'm faffing, as usual.  Found out that the place in France I'm staying in September is twinned with Glasgow, which is bizarre...given that Glasgow is home to people with horrific accents and Montpellier is actually...nice...
