I'm in Cambodia. Have been here for about 3 weeks now. The people are really friendly and I feel very welcome here even though I did see someone carrying an AK47 at the Central Market.

Good: generous hosts, very few aggressive hawkers/taxi drivers in NE Thailand, kuaythiaw noodles, temperatures below 35 C, celebrating Loi Krathong on the Chao Phraya, Indian restaurants in Thailand, yellow watermelons, hotels with free drinking water, speaking/understanding more Thai than Peter is able to, people with influential positions at ( Read more... )

Today I had a monkey grab a can of coke out of my hand. It then climbed a tree and drank it. I took its photo.

Well, the TEFL course was shit and our "job placements" were moreso humanitarian missions than employment, so I'm done with TEFL International and the town of Ban Phe. Ko Samed is nice, but nothing special, and Ban Phe stinks of fish ( Read more... )

Despite the gravity suggested in the news, Bangkok is fine (unless you are the PM of Thailand, in which case you are now unemployed and likely not welcome back in Thailand).
