Had a living history event bright and early today and managed to finish my outfit last night at 11:30 pm. Ugh. The event went well though. We had a couple schools come to a local museum where we gave educational demonstrations about Manitoba's Selkirk Settler history. Thanks! lol Only handsewn by necessity. I needed to get started on it, but my mom needed the sewing machine for school sewing. So I was like, screw it, I'll just sew it by hand.

Thanks! I took some close-up pics of the pockets which are made from the same print. That post should be up shortly.

Thanks Gloria! It was a really fun event. We got to check out each other's demonstrations too and I saw the firing of a musket, which was super cool. Also totally surprised someone driving by the museum! lol

Doesn't it feel good to be able to say something is hand-sewn? Congratulations. I see what you mean about the waist level, but hopefully that's not too bad to fix.

Nice job.

Thank you! I was surprised that it didn't take me forever to make, which makes hand-sewing projects in the future more likely. I don't know if I'll go back and fix the waist level on this one, but will certainly be adjusting my pattern for future Regency stuff. Looking at these pictures more closely, I am thinking that perhaps the back is pulled down some because the front looks like it's riding up. Adjusting that would probably help.

I'm agreeing with that assessment of the fit :-) I think it would be worth it to make the changes, too, just for the record.
