Too "insert word" for Photos?

I came across this blog post from my friend feed on facebook. It hits on stuff that I connect with regarding hating to be photographed - specifically feeling too fat to take a good picture. But really it has applied to me even when I wasn't heavy. My friends would say I'm not all that heavy now.

culturally, women are the worst (generally speaking) the whole permission we as a society give ourselves to bash people and call it fun is shitty. I refuse to take part in the dialogue that says "that outfit is ugly. she is too x, she is too y." I think we are all adept at parsing difference, and it may be some necessary part of our biological make-up, but that doesn't mean we have to let it rule our way of defining ourselves and others.

Of course I do it, I think about how someone looks or behaves and I judge it, but I do my best not to let myself articulate it as often as I might. I've gotten better at catching myself than when I was younger. And I think the whole climate of shame is so useless.

I can't tell if noticing I'm not healthy the way I'd like to be is separate from the more pathological body image bs. I try to focus on the part of my mind I have control over on health not image, but my screaming inner teen gets her say regardless.
