I'm nearing the end of this pregnancy, so big, I'm in the "can it just be over now?" stage. physically and emotionally this has been more taxing than I could have imagined. J lost his job, or really the company he worked for imploded a couple of months ago. He's been looking for work here, in LA, SF, the other meccas of computing, gaming etc. He's been doing some consulting work in the interim. We're having a "small" get together of about 15 people for the Super Bowl on Saturday. So, busy, getting ready for that. It's pretty omnipresent, the whole football thing around here. For the last week I've been trying to get out every day for some time to myself to walk or swim when Y comes to babysit/nanny the girls while the boys are in school.  She's typically here for 3, sometimes 4 hours. I think I mentioned before that she's being paid for by D&B as a way of helping me out with the pregnancy.

I've assigned the boys home work outside their homework in order to earn some points. We let them gain or lose points, in the form of flattened glass beads, over the course of the week in order to earn priviliges - most frequently, video game time. One bead equals 5 minutes of gaming.

boys pee on the floor, on the seat, and sometimes on the wall (if it's close enough) and (at least some) men, even when they hit their target, seem to dribble on the floor. I also have enjoyed peeing whilst standing up, but only in the shower where my indiscriminate aim had no lasting effects ( Read more... )

no scans or "fun" stuff today. we did a full check-up, tire rotation, oil change, pap smear (the works) a few weeks ago right before Zero Hour so this was just a weigh-in, pee, blood draw.
