Ironing

What started as a brief Twitter rant has turned into a deep, thought provoking topic for me.

Ironing

I do it.  I do my own clothes and I do the clothes of my spouse and my kids. Here is a portion of the original Twitter post:
"If he doesn't care enough to iron his clothes, why does she do it? Would it change if he were a bachelor?"

I HATE ironing. Most of my clothes do not require ironing. I don't iron my husband's clothes. If he wants them ironed, he has to do it himself. That being said, if I happen to be ironing something, I will usually offer to iron one or two of his shirts. I used to iron all of his, but it took way too much time.

I also don't iron. Although it does influence my clothing choices in that I avoid buying (and wearing) cloths that require ironing.

The majority of the time, the things I end up ironing for him were gifts. I also avoid buying clothes that require ironing. As for myself, my scrubs often need ironing if they get left in the dryer or laundry basket for too long.

danae won't iron for me, so count me in the club. :)

I would iron for myself, but we only have a small mini ironing board, and when I try to iron something, the newly-ironed parts that hang off the ironing board get immediately wrinkled. It's whack-a-mole with wrinkles, and I haven't invested the time or energy to figure out how to win, other than "take everything to the cleaners".

Fortunately, starting in a week or so, we'll be living on the KAIST campus and there's a cleaners in one of the student centers.
