Our grade (8th grade) just came back from a trip to Washington. There were fifty kids, two buses, one for each gender, with televisions, (we drove there. That's eight hours.) and six teachers. Mom's thinking of moving Es'ka to a different school. She told the director of the current school about it, and the next day, the principal tells Es'ka that from then on she's in charge of the student planners, and making sure everything is written down in them, and she ended up convincing Es'ka that she can't leave, since the school can't do ( Read more... )

Well, I read The Giver by Lois Lowry, which I mentioned in a comment on my own post, and that goes on the list. I've been lucky this summer. 95% of the books I've read this summer go on the list!

Also, I read Twenty Years After by Alexandre Dumas, which is the second book in the sequel of The Three Musketeers after which comes Ten Years Later, ( Read more... )
