Well, it's been a while since my first post so I thought I would start from the beginning. Hi, my name is Cheryl and I live in Watertown, NY. My husband just retired from the Army after 22 years and took a civilian job at Fort Drum, NY. Does she know about the quilt or is it a surprise? Ether way I know she is going to love it and its going to be one more wonderful memory for you and her to share.

I am hoping to have not only pictures to post of the completed quilt but also of the look on her face when she sees it.
I am glad my story touched you. Sounds as though you are a mother and understand. And I guess I am trying to hold onto her childhood as well.

No I am not a mom but I can so understand how your daughter feels and know the wonderful feeling when you can share that bond of something with your mom.
My mom has always supported all my fandoms, even now at 30somthingish :) and She even joins in on some of them and that is very special to me.
P.s Tell her " We never really grow up, we just end up with more responsibilities"
