A great weekend and a great husband.

I mentioned previously that my husband will soon be going to Afghanistan.  Very soon actually, October 19th.  So before he left we planned a trip to Mansfield, Ohio so my husband could visit his family.  We left Thursday morning and arrived around 3pm.   My husband's family is HUGE!  And they all live in the same town. It's nice to see an example of a good man. I've been losing faith in the opposite gender over the past 1 1/2 years as my husband has been screwing up pretty bad (drinking, staying out ALL night, extremely irritable to the point I don't speak unless it is absolutely necessary. I moved out of the master bedroom in March - I couldn't take another weekend of him not coming home at night). At this point I'm done with men. When my kids are grown I'm not sure I'll have much reason to stay with him other than a lower housing expense. Pretty sad. Alcohol is poison. It destroys lives, marriages, families, communities (in my opinion.) Sorry to have been so depressing, but it's nice to see that there are still good men out there somewhere. And it's nice to see that you recognize it and are thankful for it :o)

I understand completely. My first marriage was the same. And I felt terrible for my kids. I stayed with him 4 years and finally had enough. 3 months after I left him, I met my now husband Greg. We have been married for 18 years on October 2nd. He doesn't drink, the occasional beer when we go out to dinner, doesn't smoke, doesn't go to bars, and doesn't curse. I mean does it get any better than that? lol I am very blessed
