todays hurdle was getting him through being told it was definitely cancer - apparently he took it so calmly that they praised his maturity :)

Actually, have you thought about getting him a handheld games console for while he's in hospital/having lots of tests? Like a PSP or a DS. I'm sure I could get a few games donated from work or something.

he got a ds for christmas actually - just have to make sure he takes a charger with him now! unfortunately (for him!) he gets to do lessons via the internet while in hospital (his school was a pioneer in the north west apparently) so it won't all be leisure time.
