I took you to a roots concert last night and
you rocked and rolled inside of me to
the vibration of an afro and and a lazy downbeat
there are moments when we are thicker than blood

mostly you sleep through the days but
take the time in the couch ridden evening
to tap out a hello and a word or two into my poetry
from a bubbled out home of my water

first shots.

Mammy's show made me feel like a human being again. And Mammy's loss made me angry at fate and my own lack of resources. I loved listening to everyone. It makes the pit of my stomach stir and I'm sure that it does wonderful things for my baby. Jonas' singing seems to have the power to give it soul.
