[This is an apology, and thanks of sorts to those that helped her when she was in such a horrid state of mind, so sometime during the week invites are sent out, and they are sent to city wide to everyone in perfect gold and black ink:]

Her Majesty, Elizabeth the I
Queen of England, Ireland & France, defender of the faith, etc
cordially invites you to ( Read more... )

[Elizabeth can be found out amongst her guests, having spared no expense on her party or on herself, it was such a wonderful distraction from her other worries.

Despite being masquerade, she wasn't bothering to hide herself, she didn't know how to be less flashy with her dress and mask, her trademark bright red hair piled up and woven with ribbons and glittering ornaments. Laughing, smiling easily enough despite how she had been so recently. In her element as she hadn't been for awhile and it showed. Every inch the queen she was by blood right, she was confident with how she moved and talked, easy enough to approach too. Her glass of wine in hand, she wove through the people teeming around with practised ease.]

[Gabriel's there. He wasn't sent an invitation- he's been careful not to make his mortal presence known anywhere. Revenge is something best served cold after all, but there's a lot of people who aren't very patient. Still, even in hiding he's heard about this little (heh, little) soiree and he owes the Queen at least his good wishes.

He's found a dark, empty corner of the garden, away from most of the revellers, and he's settled himself there with a glass of something- wine, not any of the other red stuff, and now he's waiting, glad that while his mask isn't exactly plain, it's not full of bright colours that are going to attract much attention ( ... )

[She's so very surprised to get the letter, looking up immediately to try and see him. Alert. She hadn't thought he would come, and she'd been carefully trying to pull herself together for this evening.

Not that she was showing any less decorum right now. She politely excuses herself from her present company. Some handsome man that had been telling her all the things she was in the mood to hear. Namely how beautiful and graceful she was. Leaving the man after he kissed her hand good bye, and picking up another glass of champagne on the way, she went to find Gabriel.

Which when she found him, she approached so very carefully, and kept herself away.]

Greetings, my lord. I had no expected you to come.

[He smiles, and bows low. It's not mocking, but reverend, and surprisingly elegant for a creature who has so recently fallen from grace. He's not bowed to anyone for a long, long time. But the woman in front of him deserves it, if anyone does]

I had to give you my best wishes, Your Majesty, on your birthday. I wouldn't want you to think I didn't care.

[He moves, straightening up and pulls off the mask. There's no need to wear it for the moment, she knows who he is, and maybe the more human he looks, the better. He is, after all, one of them now, and he doubts she's about to stab him. Or poison him or something.]

There's really no need for you to call me lord. I never was one, despite what I might have wanted people to believe.

[ Desmond's experiences with fancy parties are strictly in whatever Ezio Auditore da Firenze experienced in his lifetime. He's not a fan of the idea of a masquerade party. The masks look really uncomfortable and he'd rather his hood just shadow his face. But, he'll play along with the rules. There's no point in making an alley of the Brotherhood upset--especially when she's the Queen of England. Desmond manages to find a nice pair of black assassin robes to take with him, hiding away in Mario's room, as his aren't completed yet. The hood, unlike his hoodie, has a bill that gives the illusion of an eagle - the sign of the Assassins. With the hidden blade neatly tucked on the robes, Desmond makes his way to Hatfield Palace. It takes a few directions, but he finally finds the place. After glancing around, Desmond swipes a mask from an attendee and places it on before slipping past whatever security he sees.

Once inside the great hall, he starts looking around for the Queen herself. ]

[She's easy enough to find Desmond. So very white against all the bright colours otherwise. But she finds him quickly enough, noting him as she turns to whoever she was talking to, some charming man, probably. It's been awhile since she flirted with... well anyone. So she's happy making the most of it. It's so easy, she's missed this song and dance so very much. Not even for being adored, but for it's familiarity.

She says good bye to whichever handsome so and so it is, letting him kiss her hand in parting to go after Desmond. Trying to sneak up behind him, tapping him on the shoulder and leaning over.]

Hello, hunter. I'm glad you have come to join me. [Before she stepped back and gave him space. Didn't want to upset him after all, no matter how playful she was feeling.]

[ He turns when she calls out to him, giving her a smirk and nodding his head. Bowing is a little strange for him, given his time frame, but he'll show her respect. She's a Queen. ]

Assassin, Your Majesty. Hunter makes it sound like I go out and find animals. [ Desmond chuckles. ] You sure know how to throw a party.

[Elizabeth laughed.]

Oh dear, an assassin at my birthday, now it really is just like home. [She looked around the hall, so very self satisfied.] I've had just a little practise. After planning a coronation, this is all so very easy. But I am pleased with how it turned out.

[Such a mess of people, as it should be. Laughing, talking, filling the empty space with life.]

[ It's not a surprise that Jane looks incredibly uncomfortable and unsure in the attire she has. Dresses weren't her thing, and the last time she had stepped into a dress salon was when she was going to her high school prom. Pepper came to her rescue, thank god, and found her a red dress and matching mask. Jane is completely out of her element, even if she is trying for the sake of her friend. The friend she is worried about, after that explosive message on the network. She fiddles with her dress constantly, and making sure the mask is on tight, as well as moving from side to side in the small heels she has underneath. ]

Dr. Foster, there's no need to be so nervous.

Really? Because, I am. I haven't dressed up for something like this since I was at my prom. [ aslsajlasg. ]

[Tesla, while not entirely in the mood to party, could never not go. It is the Queen of England, after all, and there should definitely be wine. And so, here he is in a three piece suit he may or may not have 'borrowed'.

He is staying near the waiters carrying the wine.]

[ Jane looks over and spots Tesla. Oh, he's here too. Jane really hopes he doesn't recognize her and make some weird comment about how she's dressed. ]

[How could he possibly not.]

That's quite a dress, Dr. Foster.

[Almost immediately after the invitation had arrived at Stark Tower, Pepper had gone to drag Jane shopping. She was very pleased with the dress, even if they had been back home she knows she could have done better. Her mask is simple, because she forgot about needing one and JARVIS fabricate it quickly.]

[Tony appears at her side with a champagne flute in each hand and offers one to her with a smile. He's just as happy with his purple suit and mask as she is with her outfit, and he's glad they didn't end up clashing with each other. That would've been disastrous.] Remind me, is that dress new or one of your birthday presents from me?

[Tony, she is grounding you. She got out your tux...]

It's new. Dr. Foster and I went shopping.

[But Pepperrrr, it's a masquerade, that means everything has to be flashy.]

Oh? Does that mean Foster's out there somewhere sporting a lovely new dress as well?
