We have all done several watches now, and each shared plenty of squee, comments and thoughts about the Naval Romance (Some good, some bad; most completely cracktastic...) - but can you remember back to your first ever watch? What was it that went through your brain then? So I put it to you, fellow Aubreyad fans:

I was . . . 7 when it came out, so all I remember thinking was how cool the ship was. And for some reason, I had been convinced that penguins were somewhere in the movie (I think it's because I had already learned about the warm-water penguins in the Galapagos).

I was 12 or so. I remember really liking it, but thinking "wow, that was intense." We -- me, my sister, my dad, and my grandfather (who had read some of the books) -- saw it at a rep theatre, a few months after the original release. I remember from the beginning, Stephen was my favourite character, and I just found the whole thing really intense, but really brilliant. It was, however, a few years before I could watch it again.

I honestly can't remember - except that I missed the beginning. It was fun, though.

I am so very glad I saw the movie in the cinema, as it blew my mind when I saw dear Surprise on the big screen. :D

A friend and I had gone to see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and MandC's trailer ran. Surprise sped through the storm and I was already sold on seeing the complete movie.

We went only a few weeks later and life has not been the same since. ;D

Jack reached for his sword, he pulled down his waistcoat and I was completely and I was away with them. I was also thrilled to see how much of the spirit of the books shone through. :D
