What even is this gigantic allegedly 1898 sleeve

I know there's still a gathered, somewhat full sleeve head by 1898 that's pretty much smoothed out completely by 1900...and I also know I've got little titchy chicken arms...but I believe this would be a bit much on anybody, tyvm. If you're really going for post-sleeve collapse years.

I stuck a big old rose on my hat today, and now I feel much better about it, so I declare it Done. I may or may not have worn it around the house today for a couple of hours, to test out exactly where it needed to be pinned to stay on my head...

Corset: yesterday I did get the busk put in. Managed to put the stud half in upside down because I am an idiot, so the mesh got a little bit mauled from pulling that out and replacing it! Good thing the mesh isn't required for structural integrity in that particular location (the busk is sandwiched inside two layers of legacy muslin and two layers ( Read more... )

Finished Robin's hat yesterday - I sent her pics but I won't show The Internet At Large yet, til the hat's on her head. It's extremely ridiculous though. My text to her involved "I really hope you wanted to wear a bucket of flowers on your head LOL." It's...a bit much for my taste but that should mean it's just about right for the recipient. ;)
