Started the shirtwaist
If we want to call it a shirtwaist? Vest? Sleeveless thingie? Circa 1900 tank top? I decided I see no sense in putting sleeves on something I'm planning to wear a jacket over, so it's gonna be sleeveless.
Also I can't find my shirtwaist pattern so I just cut shapes out of a piece of lawn and am hoping for the best.

Skirt
Can safely report that the TV 1898 walking skirt does NOT take 5 yards, unless there is a snag in the space-time continuum of my wool. Started with 5 yards (could be a little more, as FFC's fairly generous with their yards), cut out the skirt, and still have well over 2 yards left ( Read more... ) -
Sunday stitch'n'bitch
Which, as usual, was more bitching than stitching. ;) We originally planned to have a last tea in vintage at our favorite local tea house, which is closing down, but on their last day they were just having an "open house", no reservations for tea. Allllmost done - will finish the hem before bed, and that's it. I briefly considered covering up the ridiculous-looking selvedge, then decided...nah, who cares? LOL. I'm already a walking Joanns advert half the time...

Flemish: dress rehearsal
So to speak. Since it's not done but was quite wearable on Sunday, as anticipated!

I sort of forgot that my youngest cousin's high school graduation was today - not completely, but enough that for this entire week I've been thinking of Saturday as a sewing day and thus being only somewhat motivated.
