It's easier to speak to someone digitally than it is face to face. Through a phonecall you can use different vocal tones to hide your facial expressions. But with a computer you're granted even more freedom - the person on the other end of the email or IM doesn't get to hear your voice nor see your face. There are a few specific words that I don’t think deserve to be defined by a fucking dictionary. Even if the purpose of defining them with a dictionary is so that little kids who’ve never heard the word will be able to get a grasp on the word, and so that people who speak another language will be able to understand them because it’s a different ( Read more... )

So, my internet was pretty much busted all weekend. I think that our router might have issues, but my Dad insists it doesn't. Sure it doesn't, Dad, especially since when the router is on and you pick up the phone it's all staticy and it makes AOL connection noises, but it works absolutely fine when the router is off. So...this morning I missed my bus and my Dad had to drive me to school - late, because my Dad doesn't go to work until 9:00, and school starts at 7:43. So I missed history class, and I'm already missing some major assignments in history due to South Pacific rehearsals/performances.

Today was our final performance of South Pacific - good riddance, mates.

It actually went pretty well, as did last nights. Last night was our recording night (for our DVDS), which apparently our director failed to tell our orchestra about, because when I was talking to my orchestral friends afterward they were all like, "THEY RECORDED TONIGHT?!?!?"  ( Read more... )
