Awwwww {{{{{Ang}}}}}} I miss you oodles!!! I hope you're doing well.
I never have time to get online and read LJ anymore. I'm workin like 11hr days! Its rough but so much fun!
I would like to say I worked hard to get this but it just came to me. I mean I have paid attention my whole life to everything my mom has taught me about animals and I have worked hard with animals most of my life. So, I suppose I do have the skills...I mean obviously I do cause I'm doing it and doing it well. I only wish I had've figured this out like 20yrs ago lol. One day I sat here and decided to put my resume on Monster and to market myself as a vet assistant/tech. I got some calls for stupid jobs and two interviews with vet clinics. The first one was an Animal ER and they didn't like me lol. The second one was this clinic and the rest is history. I'm uber happy with it. I just hope they like me and I never get fired lol.

YAY MANDI!!!! See I knew you had the skills to pay the bills momma!

I LOVE YOU!!!!

Awwww, I've always wanted a job like that. I wanted to be a veterinarian SO BAD when I was growing up. Then I became a burnout senior year of high school and opted to be a fucked up writer instead.
:)

How is your neck feeling? Have you had a chance to try the good ol' k (and I mean what you and I were talking about not the cat tranqs LOL).

YAY Thanks!

I <3 You too Laur!

My neck is about the same as it was. I need to find the time to get my MRIs to another dr for a second opinion. I don't really have the time to have surgery now though. I'm going thurs to get my stupid lower back looked at. I have been having super severe pain and sometimes my leg like decides it wants to not work lol. I think this is a bad bad sign :o/

I'M BROKEN!!! When he told me my neck was all jacked up he said "well, the good news is you're not paralyzed.....yet." I'm skurred but I don't think about it most of the time. I just go about life and try to deal with the pain. Pooooooor Mandi!! Call me a WHHHHAAAAAAMBULANCE STAT!!! haha :oP

Maybe you have hayfever? Maybe the headache and the fever arent related. Maybe you should take a Benedryl lol cause thats what 90% of the dogs we see every day are on. Benedryl is a wonder drug apparently. Hmmmm maybe you should see a human nurse :oP OMGAH!! Laur!! You knew I was a "nurse" before I did hahahahahaha ( ... )

You may be sorry you asked.

Ok so this girl that works there only on the weekends brought her G-Pig in because he was dying. We only treat cats and dogs so a G-Pig is not an every day thing. She wanted him put to sleep so Dr Schweers says "Get the pig Mandi we're gonna take care of it." So I get him from the box she brought him in and put him on the treatment room table. Dr Schweers says "Jesus how the fuck do I kill this thing?!" (I know its sounds a lil cold but she isn't at all cold) I'm like "well Dr if it were me I'd do an intracardiac injection." she says "ohhhh, in the heart, GREAT!" So thats what we did. He was on his way out the door and really felt nothing. I literally took less than a half a second and he was asleep. Then soon after that he was eternally sleeping :o( Poor pig but it was better than suffering.
But, YAY me for coming up with the idea lol.

I thought you had to go through schooling to become a vet tech? Did I miss all of that too?!?!? WTF.

No you don't need scholing to be a vet tech. It can help you get a job but its not required. Thank goodness lol. Having knowledge of animals and animal anatomy helps though yanno yanno. Since I've been dealing with most of the stuff I'm doing now my entire life its not a big deal :o)
