I'm trying to think of something wise to say, you know, that doesn't involve me being silly or involving one of our many inside jokes.

I don't have anything, but I love you and I'm always here for you, which I know you're aware of. This is a tough thing to deal with, but I think in lieu of the depression, you're handling it quite well. I won't worry about you (too much) until you lose the ability to laugh.
