facebook...

Facebook seems to be the new way to withdraw from the bounds of normal social interaction... It's now common to rsvp to parties and then not show, no one seems to blink when you don't contact your closest friends for months because you already know what is going on because you've kept up to date with the latest in their life through status updates ( Read more... )

I hate that aspect of Facebook, though I'm sort of guilty of it, too. In my case, I emailed all my friends when Joel and I split up, and he didn't tell *anyone* (still hasn't told a bunch of people as a matter of fact) so several of his friends found out we were divorced when I changed my relationship status on Myspace. I felt bad about it, but I didn't want to go chasing down all of HIS friends, yknow?

In the case of your sister, I'd be royally pissed.

It wasn't your place to tell his friends... hope you didn't feel too bad for too long.

As for my sister -- yep royally pissed is a good explanation of it.

I despise Facebook because it's even less interactive than tapping out morse code on bathroom stall walls to the person in the next stall over.

Just...ugh. Also, bad bad form by your sister. time for some verbal ass kickage. I suggest putting it up on her superwall.

I hate that about technology in general. I even hate texting. No one wants to call anymore. They all want to have conversations through text. Now, a text here and there is fine, but I refuse to carry on conversations through text!

But yea, your sister definitely should have told you. Have you confronted her about it?

I haven't confronted her about it... I was sort of hoping that I might get a phone call eventually... But it's Tuesday and I haven't heard a peep from her past her sending a photo of her ring via a picture text.

that is very lame of her not to tell you in person.

She lives across the other side of the country so in person might be a little bit hard but a phone call would have been nice...
