Tor, InvisibleIRC, and the gang
Around 2 years back, a friend had pointed to InvisibleIRC project. Your connection to the IRC server is made via several hops over 'relays' (intermediate nodes), and the messages sent are themselves encrypted. Visited Ranga Shankara to witness A Heap of Broken Images (penned by Girish Karnad.)
Apart from other things, was amazed to see how energetic the actor (a lady, possibly 35+ or 40+) could be on the stage. Passion (for acting, in this case) can do wonders for the energy you exude.

The iPod Shuffle
The iPod Shuffle is delightfully convenient. Small enough to nicely fit in your shirt pocket and you won't even notice its weight any more than the pen.
