Not to be serious, but an aspect of this that can be tough for the ordinary female-wired brain to understand is that the - I'll call it "sexual potential evaluation" part of the ordinary male-wired brain is a background system process. There has been research showing that in general female brains do better at processing multiple inputs than male brains, but this is a special case: its not even terribly concious most of the time. May not see the dishes in the sink, the pee on the seat - but can tell you an overall impression of any and all females who were there regardless of whether they actually "thought" about it ( ... )

I've read This is Your Brain on Music. It might seem impudent to judge what someone who has actively researched the subject says, but I suspect he gets a lot of details wrong but asks a lot of the right questions and makes for a fascinating read ( ... )
