Hello all - first time posting in the new format (how weird).

Sorry didn't post the other day, went out with my sister to the pub after work, was supposed to be a pub quiz, but we ended up just sat in a corner chatting. Was good anyway apart from reeking of cigarette smoke when I got home!

Had a friend from Uni who's absolutely obsessed with India and has been across helping build houses and stuff for poorer areas, usually back-packing around and hitching lifts on rickety trucks... Her chronicles are amazing! I wouldn't mind visiting India, but then I'd like to travel most everywhere!!

For some reason I always think of Count Dracula when anyone says Pennsylvannia to me - I imagine a perpetual black cloud over rickety buildings with bats flying around... I'm going to have to do something about my imagination!!

I come from a relatively small [~50,000 people] tourist trap. xD I won't go into it, but we have a horrible festival thing for a week every January, and people from all over the world flock to it... and all they play is country music, and God, it's horrible. It's HORRIBLE. Last year I literally did not leave my house for the seven-day duration. xD;

Hmm.. well I'm from Melbourne..Thats in Australia.. >.<;;
Its a nice place and underrated compared to Sydney..I mean Australia has more places then just Sydney and its Opera House :P Well I guess we have the trams but anyways. Its got nice weather, and the only place I know which has like 4 seasons in a month or day..give or take..

Doesn't Sydney always get mistaken for the Capital when it's actually Melbourne? Or is my Geography just so embarrassingly bad that I'm talking out my rear?

Have read your posts about the Melbourne weather as well; it's horrifying, at least in England you can pretty much predict the weather (rain from September to May and sunny showers from June to August... possibe exaggeration...).

its actually Canberra which is the capital.. :) Although, its easy to get mistaken as the capital was meant to be either Sydney or Melbourne.. ^^

Well.. it seems when everyone thinks of Australia..its either the outback or Sydney.. meh.. they aren't so great >:)

one thing embarrassing about my hometown is that people regard it as "experiencing Asia without leaving the country.." so embarrassing... >.>; <.<;

lol! I have been doing the rest of my cards bit by bit while at work. Its a pain to do all at one time.

I live in Albuquerque New Mexico USA. Its the biggest city in NM. We are in the desert so its dirt most everywhere. A lot of water conservation laws too.
Our claim to fame...we were the first city that turned Bill Gates down for a loan to start his business. x.x Also Bugs Bunny has always forgotten to take a left at albuquerque. And the Simpsons make fun of us as well. A few movies are filmed around here too. Mostly if they need a desert backdrop with little mountains (not like rockys) or no mountains. Yeah. Oh and everyone always thinks we are part of Mexico not the USA. eh. We're just the new part of mexico. lol.

I dont know the whole story...but I do know that bugs used to say it because the creator had a niece or someone living here and he liked how bug's sounded out 'albuqerque'.
Then the simpsons had a full episode of when Albuquerque stole the Isotopes (our baseball team) from Springfield. No idea why...I don't know where we got the team from actually. But that episode was highly amusing. Homer found out about the team moving and was drugged by the company (our governer maybe?) to keep him quiet. He told someone that "occacianally I'll be quirky. I'll be quirky...Albuquerque!" and remembered what he had seen. lol. Now you know how to pronouce the name as well!
