We are very lucky, indeed. Will had a choking episode on Saturday that was very serious. He choked on a goldfish cracker, and I tried hitting his back and fishing around in his mouth before having to do the Heimlich on him, whilst I crazily screamed for Aric, who came running immediately. Will was almost indigo by the time he was able to breathe ( Read more... )

How scary with Will and the goldfish. The nursing afterward probably helped him calm down a lot.

Yeah, I am still a little wary of the Goldfish crackers. Usually I send some with him to the gym when he's at the child watch. He likes to have a snack there. But the last two days, I've sent other things that are less choke-prone. I don't mean to be too paranoid, but there are so many kids there and they can't be watched individually all the time... So I don't know... maybe as he gets older, I'll have more confidence in his chewing abilities. Of course, I should never have allowed him to have anything in his mouth while he's running around. You just can't always anticipate what he'll find lying around, and I certainly don't have time to vacuum every day. Sigh. I'm just glad he's okay.

Omg, I'm glad Will's okay. I can't imagine anything scarier!

P.S. I finished that Baby Love book and loved it! Very helpful and interesting.

Thanks. We are glad he's okay too. It's very difficult getting through something like that. But I'm glad that we had a great father's day the next day. Got us all in a good mood.
