The menpo is only held on with laces, but I'm an old sailor so those knots are TIGHT! So far there is no movement or fraying but, to be fair, I only took one shot across the face all weekend. The Mabizashi and Fukigaeshi seem to collect anything other than direct thrusts to the face.

I like how you made the portion on your on-hand side solid and used scales (Effingham?) on the off-hand side. Well done.

The off hand side is solid boards which, by the time you get near the bottom are more like a shallow "m" shape than a rectangle. I would love to use Effingham plates but cost prevents...

As I mentioned on the Armour Archive, I'm a great lover of the katanugi dô. Sweeeeeeeeeet. I also like dan-odoshi, so props also on the lacing pattern.

So.... wanna do an ô-yoroi next? :)

Good day!

I would like to congradulate for your acheivement! When I saw your handamde armour I was very pleased with your results! Never thought of cosplaying or giving panels or workshops when there's an japanese anime convention? I'm sure you would get many people and grabbing their attention! Take a look at my photo albums and see for yourself! Finally it took a lady to put on samurai armour and hop on a horse for parade and more!

Hope you appreciate it and let me know what you think about it!

Have a good day!

Haven't looked at Cosplay or Anime. I'm not sure how much of it happens over here in Britain? I've sent a friend request on facebook as it appears that only your simplest details are available to non-friends.
