My parents came to visit today. They brought up some kitchen chairs, which is cool because one of ours is broken. Anyway, after that we went out to eat at Mongolian Barbecue. While we were eating, somebody famous also happened to be there. So anyway, I walked over and just so I could say I "met her," I said hi to Governor Granholm while the ( Read more... )

Cool! Did she say anything to you? Tonight is the first debate. Do you plan on watching? DeVos, the trained spokesperson he is, is supposed to do great but I haven't heard anything from him that would make we want to vote for him. I thought he was off his rocker when he came out in favor of teaching intelligent design in science class.

Is this Shelly? (The Mich part of your user name makes me think that it is :P ) Anyway, if you are, I'll add you to my friends list. I'd say about 95% of the stuff I have on here is public anyway, but I try not to add people I don't know in real life. As far as politics go, if I'm not playing world of warcraft tonight, I'll probably end up watching at least some of the debate. She asked me my name, so I told her. Then I told her that I just wanted to meet her, say, hi, and that I'd leave her alone so she could enjoy her dinner. So literally about two sentences. But yeah, I officially lost a point on the "you know you're from Michigan if you've never met anyone famous" list." Anyway, Mich, if this is you (and by you I mean Shelly or someone else I know in real life), let me know okay? :)

Oh, and as far as intelligent design goes (insert gagging noises), the book "The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" by Bobby Henderson is absolutely amazing.

Hi, no, I'm not shelly. Sorry to disappoint! I work in politics in Washington. Was born in Michigan so I try to keep up with various races.

Anyway, I thought Granholm rocked last night against DeVos. Even the Free Press agreed saying, "Granholm reversed roles on Dick DeVos in their first debate Monday night, keeping her Republican opponent on the defensive for much of their hour together."

DeVos (and all his billions) is totally out of touch!

PS - Thanks for the book recommendation!
