Cat update: I left the cat hot pad out on the porch and for a long time the cats continued to walk around it and stare as if were going to bite them. Then, finally, about 7PM, the little boy cat sat down on it and as it warmed up, he settled in and stayed there. Eventually his sister sat next to him and I thought they'd gotten it at last. Dave is now done with Physical Therapy and his knee is almost able to extend where they want. They want zero degrees and he is at 2 degrees now, hoping it will get to zero by the end of the month when he sees the doctor again. I am now in on the exercises, the therapist directing me to lean on his knee with both hands around the joint and pushing ( Read more... )

Dave had his first Physical Therapy appointment yesterday afternoon and he is doing so well that the therapist said he could dispense with his walker and cane AND only needed to come in for therapy once a week as long as his progress with the home exercises continues. It's over! Dave made it through the surgery with flying colors! He was scheduled to be released on Saturday but he begged the doctor to let him go on Friday and they did! He surprised even the surgeon with how well he was doing. Amazingly, there isn't a lot opf pain, far less than either of us had expected. Granted, he is taking pain meds but ( Read more... )

SO...LJ is back online but boy does it seem slow. Is this the big upgrade/maintenance? Because when I click on someone's journal it takes forever to come up! I was hoping it would be faster than before. This is not faster. This is like molasses in January.

I am still in a daze over the election. I keep pinching myself to make sure it's all real. A majority of Americans have stated clearly that they don't want any more of the Bush doctrine, which McCain represented.
