LAMErican Idol
My journey with American Idol has come to a lame and bitter end. Last night I sped thru 1.5 of 3 lame performances, and I have no feelings about who's going to win. Here is my sad and brief commentary:
Song 1 was chosen by Clive Davis, otherwise known as the crypt keeper of lousy song choices.

Last night I dreamt I was dressed up as an old lady with a cat slung over my shoulder, scratching its butt and singing "The Greatest Love of All" for the amusement of others. "Learning to love yourself/Is the greatest love of all."
someone remind me that dreams aren't prophetic. -

one tiny idol thought
I really don't have anything grand to say on the top three Idol performances. I zipped thru them. They were predictable. And I always hate this night because the judges will criticize performers for being predictable or for singing a song that isn't right for them - and guess what? two of the three songs the contestants DON'T PICK. this seems like a skeptical premise.... but I'm really excited for it as it has some GOOD people involved:
Jeanine Tesore is doing the music. She's AWESOME.

I think I want to throw a "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" party. But what on earth could the appropriate reason be for this part? Or is "Just Because" enough?
All I know so far is you come dressed appopriate to one of those titles, and we play a lot of Decemberists and travelling music.
Maybe some tarot.
Maybe some musical jamming amongst friends.
